Deriving inspiration from both Eastern and Western heritage values in the Wan Chai District of Hong Kong, the commission shows a celebration of the buzzing vibes in the area. The typography is designed to depict the architectural silhouette of Hong Kong, densely dominated by high-rise buildings. Using iconic imagery from Wan Chai landmarks, the graphics of this edition are translated onto light boxes to encourage an increasingly energetic ambience. Photographic metaphors of Wan Chai are merged with a bright neon colour palette, to playfully express the multidisciplinary culture of the district.
